What is NIC

The Nile International Certificate (NIC)

Is an integrated K-12 trilingual system. It was designed and prepared in partnership with Cambridge Assessment International Education in accordance with evidence and research-based best practices. NIC was designed to be a pioneering system of education that prepares resilient, entrepreneurial, inquisitive. global citizens. NIC Unit is the entity responsible for operating NIC. NIC has two accredited certificates: CNIPE & CNISE.

NIC Unit

NIC Unit was founded in 2015 according to the Prime Minster decree No. (1335) . Two subsequent decrees (Nos. 1918 and 1919) were issued in 2016, the first was to restructure the unit and the second to form the Board of Trustees.

According to Decree No (1335), some of the main tasks of NIC unit :
  1. Establishing an examination board comparable to the international examination boards, entrusted with setting all NES exams in all subjects and for all grades.
  2. Developing an integrated plan for marketing the international certificate and setting the standards, rules and criteria necessary to issue licensing educational and governmental institutions, inside and outside the Arab Republic of Egypt, be it governmental or private, national or international.
  3. Developing plans, policies, and standards for reviewing educational curricula in accordance with international standards which would guarantee its worldwide competitiveness.

NIC Unit Achievements

Since its inception, the unit has been able to:
  1. Communicate with Cambridge International Examinations to write new curricula for the certificate, such as Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Automation L2, Digital Marketing L2 and L3, Project Management L2, Global Perspectives L2 , Entrepreneurship L2 , and Art & Design L2
  2. Form a cadre of Test Setters and train them through Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) .
  3. Prepare a cadre of accredited trainers and training (428) teachers from the fourteen Nile Egyptian Schools (on-site training ) and (458) trainees (on-line training) on the Initial Teacher training and Specialized Training in the period from 2019/2020 and 2020 / 2021 and providing academic support on a daily basis to all teachers of the nine Egyptian Nile schools (Al-Yasmine School, Al-Andalus School, Al-Shrouk School, Sheikh Zayed School, New Damietta School, Al-Sadat School, New Assiut School, New Luxor School and New Aswan School) from March to the end of May 2021.
